Ann Thomson

The play’s author

Ann Thomson grew up in Workington, Cumbria, and graduated in English from St Hilda’s College, Oxford. For many years while living in the Garstang area of Lancashire she enjoyed directing plays, writing, leading workshops, and devising creative projects with youth, adult and mixed-age groups. Several of her plays had well-received amateur productions. Ann now lives near Ulverston, Cumbria. In George Eliot’s bicentenary year, she is delighted to be working on a project inspired by her favourite novelist.

Peninsula Players

are based in and around the Furness Peninsula in south Cumbria.
